Roadmap

Three states only. Available ships in the CLI today. In progress is specified and being built in the TypeScript core's first wave. Planned is decided but not started. Each later step comes back only with the measurement it waits on.

Available Available

  1. Specstride CLI v0.1.0

    Released 2026-09-26

The gated loop with the critic, the diagnostician and the accelerator, live presenter, OpenTelemetry and Loki export.

  2. Self-tuning with automatic rollback

    In the CLI, opt-in

Per-phase settings learned from run telemetry, evaluated against their baseline after every approved phase, reverted when a guardrail breaks.

  3. Reverse mode

    In the CLI

Turns an existing codebase into an as-is Spec Kit feature, one gate at a time, with every requirement citing the lines it came from.

In progress In progress

  1. TypeScript core: kernel, contracts and the detached runtime

    Wave 1 · being built

Schemas, the atomic write, the redactor and the process primitive first, then a runtime that survives its host session and relaunches only what its own records call transient.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  2. Parity with today's CLI

    Wave 1 · release condition

A parity suite replays the CLI's behaviour against the port. Nothing is released until every parity test passes.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  3. Micro-loops that fail fast

    Wave 1 · specified

Long checks stop at the first failure, units of work stay small enough that no pass hits its time cap, and finished work is kept when a pass ends.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  4. Harness discovery and role resolution

    Wave 1 · specified

Finds the agents you already have, including ones with no dedicated adapter, and resolves who proposes and who judges, per phase.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  5. Adapters for Claude, Codex, dsh and pi

    Wave 1 · specified

Each adapter is a descriptor, optional code hooks and recorded fixtures, built against the same harness seam.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  6. Claude Code plugin

    Wave 1 · specified

The specstride-run and specstride-reverse skills, a doctor skill, and hook shims, as a thin layer over the published package.

Planned Planned

  1. dsh plugin

    Wave 2

The same skills on dsh, through the same CLI protocol.

    dsh plugin

  2. Run viewer

    Wave 2

A terminal follower and a read-only web viewer bound to loopback, both over the same read model as specstride status.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  3. Adapters for Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, opencode, OpenRouter and z.ai

    Wave 3 and later

One adapter per harness. Until one ships, the harness is usable through the generic descriptor adapter as an unverified harness.

    Specstride core (TypeScript)

  4. Parallel features in separate workspaces

    After Wave 1, on measurement

Comes back only when an experiment shows the saving. Each parallelism step waits for the measurement before it.

  5. Codex plugin

    Not scheduled

    The same skills inside Codex.
